GOkidOZ exists because parents shouldn't spend Sunday evenings frantically googling "what to do with the kids next week."
GOkidOZ started in Boston: a mother of two, both kids with gloriously different interests (one wants robots, the other wants ribbons), and exactly zero websites that could help with both. She opened 47 tabs. She googled again. The right activity was always out there somewhere — just never on the website she was currently rage-refreshing.
So she built the one website she'd actually want to use every day. Boston families loved it, then New York and Florida families asked for their own — and now California: 346 hand-checked listings from San Diego to Sacramento, each verified against the provider's own website, each with its own page and a map pin.
California is a big state, so we started where families told us they were searching hardest: Los Angeles and Orange County, San Diego, the Bay Area and Sacramento. If your town isn't covered yet, tell us — every suggestion gets checked. 🪄
Kids who get exposed to a wide range — math, music, tide pools, redwoods — keep wondering as adults. We design for breadth as well as depth.
Parents don't need another tab open. One curated directory, sorted by city and age, honest about what's free.
Every listing is verified against the provider's official site before it goes live, and links straight to it for schedules and prices.
Free museum days, Junior Ranger badges, tide pools and the Exploratorium — the state is full of free or near-free learning. We help you actually use it.
Suggestions, corrections and reviews from California families keep the directory honest. Suggest a listing any time.
A little magical. A little theatrical. Kids should leave a GOkidOZ day with a story to tell at dinner.
