The Cape Cod Rail Trail is the best family cycling route — 25 miles of paved trail from Dennis to Wellfleet, mostly flat and car-free. The Shining Sea Bikeway in Falmouth (10.7 miles, ocean views) is ideal for families with young children. Both have bike rental shops nearby.
Yes — the Cape Cod Rail Trail is excellent for families with children of all ages. Most of the trail is paved, flat and separated from traffic. Many families bike from Dennis to Brewster (about 10 miles) as a manageable day trip. Bike rentals are available at trailheads in Nickerson State Park and Dennis.
