Best swim teacher for a 5-year-old who's afraid of putting her face in the water?
⭐ Recommend
MK Maria K. · Wellesley · 2 hours ago
My daughter (just turned 5) loved Snip-Its last summer but she's terrified of dunking. Looking for someone patient who specializes in nervous kids. Tried Charles River Aquatics — instructor was great with technique but a little too brisk on the fear piece. Anyone had Goldfish Swim School or a private teacher who's been gentle?

Russian Saturday school — Znayka vs Alma Mater for a 6yo native speaker?
❓ Question
DV Dasha V. · Newton · Yesterday
Both look great on paper. We're heritage speakers, Russian is the home language. Anyone done either? I care more about literacy + reading than conversation (she already speaks). The drive to Lexington is 25 min for us, Waltham is 12.

Pickle ball lessons for an 8yo — anyone tried the Linden Square instructor?
❓ Question
AB Anna B. · Wellesley · 3 days ago
Saw a flyer at the Linden Square pop-up. Anyone done a private with him? My son loves tennis but the year-long commitment isn't realistic — pickle ball seems more flexible.
Sensory-Friendly Nutcracker — has anyone been? Worth it for a kid on the spectrum?
❓ Question
LP Lara P. · Newton · 4 days ago
My son is 7, loves music, struggles with loud venues. Boston Ballet has a Sensory-Friendly Nutcracker. Wondering if anyone took their kid and what it was actually like in practice — lights, sound, breaks.

⭐ Loved: Hipstitch Wellesley birthday party for a 9yo crew
💡 Tip
SP Sophie P. · Wellesley · 1 week ago
Did a sewing party for our 9yo + 6 friends on Sunday. They each made a tote bag. Kids were locked in — not a single phone the whole time. Staff was patient with the two who'd never threaded a needle. Highly recommend for a creative party.

📋 Community guidelines
1. Be local — Greater Boston only.
2. Be kind — disagreement OK, snark not.
3. Be specific — "ages, neighborhood, budget" beats "anyone done X?".
4. Educators introduce themselves in the Educators tab, not by replying to parent threads with promos.
5. No medical advice. Phones & doctors for that.
