💅 Malibu Barbie Cafe — Faneuil Hall
Barbie's Malibu DreamHouse goes to Faneuil Hall — immersive themed rooms, a life-size Barbie box to step into, themed cocktails (and mocktails for kids), and an unforgettable photo set. Closes July 19, so don't wait.

🎪 Circus Vazquez — Hyannis, Cape Cod
A full big-top family circus pitching its tent in Hyannis July 10–20. Classic circus with acrobats, aerialists, clowns and specialty acts. Perfect if you're heading down to the Cape this month — or worth a day trip on its own.

🎶 Boston Landmarks Orchestra — Esplanade
Free Wednesday evening concerts at the Hatch Shell, Charles River Esplanade. Bring a blanket, a picnic and the kids — these concerts draw families of all ages and run through late August. No tickets, just show up.

🎸 DCR Summer Concert Series — Various Parks

The Fort Point waterfront classic — three-story climbing maze, drop-in art, KidStage performances, WBUR Studio for Citizens and Arthur exhibit. $1 Friday evenings 5–9pm (must purchase online). Running special summer programming through August.

🐠 New England Aquarium
Timed-entry tickets required in July — book a few days ahead. Giant Ocean Tank now holds more than 1,000 animals. Sea turtles, jellyfish, harbor seals and the penguin colony. Whale watch cruises depart from the adjacent dock and are a separate ticket.

🔭 Museum of Science
Full-day indoor destination — IMAX films, Planetarium shows, live science demonstrations, the lightning show and special summer exhibits. Tip: Lightning show runs several times daily and is free with admission; kids absolutely love it.

📖 MFA — UNIQLO Story Hour
Saturday interactive story time right in the galleries (11am + 1:30pm), free with admission. The MFA's family programming is genuinely exceptional — kids engage with art through movement, music and stories. Summer programming runs through August.

🦒 Franklin Park Zoo
Giraffes, gorillas, African lions, red pandas and Tropical Forest habitat. Giraffe feeding is available daily and is a highlight. Located inside Franklin Park, Jamaica Plain — accessible by bus or car. Summer hours: open 10am–5pm daily.

🚣 Jamaica Pond Boat Rentals
Rent rowboats and sailboats at Jamaica Pond's historic boathouse, open daily in summer. Affordable, relaxing and a beloved local tradition — older kids can row, younger ones sit back and enjoy. No experience needed.

💦 Free splash pads — beat the heat
On hot days, Boston's DCR spray parks are free, fully gated, and a great toddler option. No booking required. Key locations in Greater Boston include:
- Charlesbank Playground, Esplanade / Charles River — near the Hatch Shell, great after a concert
- Clougherty Pool & Splash Pad, Charlestown — open summers, free
- Moakley Park, South Boston Waterfront — spray park + fields
- Town parks across suburbs — Needham, Natick, Wellesley, Newton all have town splash pads; check local parks departments
📚 Free summer reading — Boston Public Library

🏖️ Day trips from Boston in July
