One-on-one piano lessons with Monica Ungerleider, teaching for over thirty years โ beginners through advanced, on Boston and Steinway grand pianos in her Sudbury studio.
Monica Ungerleider has taught piano for over thirty years, working with students from complete beginners to advanced players. Lessons are one-on-one and built around each student's own goals, held in an intimate studio setting on Boston and Steinway grand pianos, with recitals held in Sudbury throughout the year.
She earned her piano performance degree from Boston University's School of Fine Arts, studying under Boris Berman and Edith Stearns, and completed post-graduate pedagogical training with Jean Stackhouse at New England Conservatory. As a performer she's played at venues including Boston's Jordan Hall, Symphony Hall, the Gardner Museum and the Tsai Performance Center.
Students take part in recitals, workshops, and local and state competitions, including those hosted by CAMSA and NEPTA, and many prepare for Royal Conservatory Music Development Program exams. Lesson length is typically 30โ45 minutes for younger students (ages 4โ10) and one hour for students 10 and up.
Based in Sudbury, the studio also draws students from Lincoln, Wayland, Concord and Weston. More in the piano teachers and schools directory.
