International online book club for Russian-speaking kids — live actor-led readings via Zoom, on a set schedule
Bukutoku is an international online book club for Russian-speaking children. A host reads a children's book aloud on Zoom, on a set schedule, pausing for discussion and reminding the group what was covered in the previous session.
Since the start of the war in Ukraine, Bukutoku has invited Ukrainian children to join the readings for free. The club is run by Dina, an actress born in St. Petersburg, raised in Israel, educated in the US, and now based in London.
