Frequently asked questions

Is there a Russian School of Mathematics in Westchester?

Yes — RSM-Scarsdale runs the same K–12 classroom curriculum as the Massachusetts flagship, meeting 1.5 to 4 hours a week depending on grade, with three levels per grade and an average class size of about 12.

RSM or Kumon — what's the difference?

RSM is classroom-based group instruction built around discussion and problem-solving, with a single continuous K–12 curriculum. Kumon is self-paced worksheet practice where a child masters each concept before moving on, with daily short assignments. Both use a placement test.

Where are the Kumon centers near Scarsdale, Great Neck and Syosset?

Kumon of Scarsdale East serves lower Westchester; Kumon of Great Neck (3B Bond St) and Kumon of Syosset cover the North Shore. All three run math and reading side by side.

Do you list private one-on-one tutors?

Not yet in New York — this is our launch set of centers. If you tutor in Westchester or Nassau County, email kate@gokidoz.com and we'll add you free.
