🎨 Teacher-led DIY studio · pottery painting (age 5+) · shell crafts (age 10+) · decoden cream · tufted rugs · candles · fluid art · texture painting · wood crafting
Crafts Zone is a teacher-led DIY studio with two locations — the original on Harvard Street in Brookline, and a second inside Natick Mall. Staff walk you through the technique rather than handing over supplies, and projects include all materials and instruction. Walk-ins are welcome, though they recommend reserving.
Projects range from quick to several hours: pottery painting, decoden cream craft, fluid art, texture painting, candle making, wood crafting, shell crafts, mosaic and Turkish-style lamps, DIY bags and clothes, and rug tufting. Ages vary by project — the site lists pottery painting from age 5 and Brookline shell crafts from age 10, and a few workshops are adults only, so check the age note on the class you want.
They host kids’ birthday parties at either studio and run a kids summer program. Painted pieces are collected later: work left to dry can be picked up after three days and is held for up to a month.
